Units and caravans receive routes and travel over time. Terrain, slope, ownership, infrastructure, damage, supply, vehicle range, fuel, and facilities can change the route or duration.
Production travel follows real pace
Ordinary walking units use an approximately 5 km/h clear-land baseline in production. Rapid Test compresses movement about 36 times for practical testing; it does not multiply a Rapid Test route by 60. Route distance, terrain, weather, supply, hostile control, roads, and friendly territory are applied before the selected profile scale.
City weather stays local
A city's stored ordinary weather affects movement only when the route midpoint is within roughly 25 km of that city. A distant city can no longer project its rain, snow, heat, or wind penalties across the world.
Road and rail are separate
Paths can upgrade through Roads and Highways. Railways unlock a separate Track network, so researching a better road never erases tracks. Rail Stations require and use that dedicated track network.
Ports and airports are facilities
Ports commission and refuel ships and unlock ocean-crossing trade. Airports commission and refuel aircraft. Every ship and aircraft is a selectable world unit; distance, fuel, cargo, maintenance, and travel time remain meaningful.
Supply and maintenance
Units inside owned or allied territory are supplied. Every unit keeps the city that created it as its home city: when it operates beyond friendly claims, its Food upkeep is charged to that home city even while another city is selected. All owned units remain visible and commandable across city views. Longer supply lines make field units slower and less effective; the selected-unit card shows the current status and hourly upkeep.
Planetary networks
Continental rail corridors, shipping lanes, communication networks, trade chains, and large cooperative projects summarize connections beyond local roads. Information eventually moves much faster than people and materials.
