Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Ahrens Lab handles information when you use our websites, games, applications, online services, and related features (collectively, the "Services"). Individual Services may provide additional notices when a feature requires more specific information.
1. Information Used by Ahrens Lab Services
Depending on the Service, Ahrens Lab may process information necessary to create and maintain accounts or service records, save progress and settings, provide online features, deliver content, maintain purchases or rewards, diagnose problems, and operate the Service.
This may include a player or account identifier, authentication or session information, application settings, game progress, generated or saved content, statistics, virtual resources, purchase or reward status, and other information required by the particular Service.
Ahrens Lab does not require users to provide personal contacts, personal photographs, or a physical address merely to create a game account unless a particular Service clearly states that such information is needed for a specific feature.
2. Local Device Data
Ahrens Lab applications may store information within the application's local storage on your device. This may include settings, account information needed to reconnect to a Service, cached images, downloaded content, or other files used by the application.
Local caching may improve loading times, preserve settings, and reduce unnecessary network downloads. Removing an application or clearing its application data may remove locally stored information.
3. Server and Online Service Data
Online Services may communicate with Ahrens Lab servers or service providers through an internet connection. Information required by a Service may be transmitted to and stored on servers so accounts, progress, content, purchases, security features, and other online functionality can operate.
Canvas Frontier uses a random installation-linked identifier and anonymous Observer Code instead of a visible login. The server stores placed colors, coordinates, timestamps, anonymous authorship, reports, blocked-contributor preferences, and purchase-verification records needed to operate and moderate the shared canvas. Drawings and coordinates are public.
For abuse prevention, Canvas Frontier may store a one-way hash derived from the connection address. The game does not display this value to players, and operational request logs do not include purchase receipts or session tokens.
Rustshift stores an account username, an optional account email, a salted password hash, authentication and session records, player and garage profile fields, game progress, skills, virtual resources, inventory, fictional vehicle identifiers, repair orders, diagnostic decisions, service history, warranty outcomes, action history, and transaction-audit information needed to operate its persistent browser game. Public profiles and rankings may display a player's username or chosen display name, garage name, rank, level, reputation, and selected game statistics. Rustshift may retain a one-way hash derived from a connection address and limited browser information with a session for account security and abuse prevention. Rustshift also stores the time and version of the player's 18+ age attestation, Terms acceptance, Privacy acceptance, and adult-game notice acceptance. It does not display those security or acceptance records to players.
4. Website Analytics
Ahrens Lab records limited aggregate website statistics such as the page requested, date, browser category, device category, and referring website domain. These statistics are used to understand website usage, diagnose problems, and maintain or improve the website.
The current Ahrens Lab website analytics system is configured not to store raw visitor IP addresses, advertising identifiers, game player IDs, or tracking cookies as part of these aggregate website statistics.
5. Tester Feedback
The optional tester questionnaire collects the game selected, tester email address, device or platform, session details, ratings, and written answers submitted by the tester. Ahrens Lab uses this information to evaluate onboarding, usability, balance, performance, and product quality, and may use the email address to identify a response or follow up about it.
The feedback system does not store a raw connection address with the response. Connection information may be used temporarily in server memory to limit automated or abusive submissions.
6. Advertising
Some Services may offer advertisements, including optional rewarded advertisements. Third-party advertising providers may collect or process device, advertising, interaction, or related information according to their own privacy practices, applicable law, and privacy choices available through your device, region, or consent controls.
7. Purchases
Some Ahrens Lab Services may offer optional purchases. Purchases may be processed through third-party platforms such as an application store or payment provider.
Ahrens Lab does not directly receive or store complete payment-card or banking information when a third party processes the transaction. Ahrens Lab may receive and maintain transaction, receipt, entitlement, or status information needed to verify purchases, provide purchased content, prevent fraud, or account for refunds and revoked purchases.
Canvas Frontier uses Unity In-App Purchasing 5.4 for its optional mobile-store products. According to Unity's current service disclosures, that SDK may process a Unity player or installation identifier, device and session information, country or approximate location, purchase history, and diagnostics or performance information for purchasing, fraud prevention, service operation, and analytics. Store platforms may process additional purchase information under their own terms. Canvas Frontier does not use this data for cross-app advertising or tracking.

9. Third-Party Services
Ahrens Lab may rely on third-party services for application distribution, purchases, advertising, hosting, infrastructure, analytics, or supporting functionality. Those providers may process information independently according to their own privacy policies and applicable agreements. The specific providers involved can vary by product, platform, region, and feature.
10. Data Retention
Information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the applicable Service, maintain accounts or progress, meet legal or platform requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce applicable agreements, and maintain service integrity.
Locally cached information may remain on a device until it is cleared by the application, operating system, user, or application removal.
Tester feedback remains in the private feedback inbox until it is reviewed or moved to Trash. A response moved to Trash is scheduled for permanent deletion seven days later.
11. Data Security
Ahrens Lab uses reasonable measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or misuse. However, no internet-connected service, transmission method, or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.
12. Children's Privacy
Rustshift is intended for adults age 18 and older and requires an affirmative 18+ attestation when a new account is created. Ahrens Lab does not knowingly offer Rustshift accounts to children. Other Ahrens Lab Services may have different intended audiences and may require additional protections, restrictions, consent requirements, or advertising limitations depending on the Service, user's age, location, platform, and applicable law.
13. Your Choices
Privacy choices may be available through the applicable Service, your device or operating-system settings, an application store, or a third-party provider. You may also contact Ahrens Lab through the Support page with questions about information associated with an Ahrens Lab Service.
14. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Ahrens Lab, its Services, third-party providers, platform requirements, or applicable laws change. The "Last updated" date identifies the most recent revision. When appropriate, an individual Service may provide an additional notice when a material change affects how that Service handles information.
